This website is used as a tool for teachers, students and parents to view current updates of the goings on in Mr. T. Clark's classroom.  As some of you may already know my name is T. Clark and I am the Manufacturing Technology teacher here at Westlane Secondary School.

Westlane Manufacturing Technology

 

Grade 10
TMJ 2O Manufacturing Technology
In this course students examine manufacturing from the perspective of an actual company. They research, design, build, and market products independently or in teams. Students experience various phases of the manufacturing process using a project-driven approach. In addition to furthering their technical skills, students expand their knowledge of how manufacturing relates to other subject areas such as business, marketing, communications, and human and physical resource management.

 

 

Grade 11
TMJ3E - Manufacturing Technology, Grade 11, Workplace Preparation
This course helps familiarize students with the broad range of career opportunities within the manufacturing sector. Students acquire design and fabrication skills, using a variety of materials, tools, equipment, and processes, and construct products that adhere to design specifications and meet quality control standards. In addition to developing employability and technical skills, students develop an understanding of the impact of the manufacturing sector on consumers, society, and the environment.

Prerequisite: None, TMJ2O recommended.

 

 

Grade 12
TMJ4E - Manufacturing Technology , Grade 12, Workplace Preparation, Combined
This course focuses on advanced manufacturing and engineering and provides students with an opportunity to develop specialized knowledge and skills used in sophisticated production processes. Students will solve problems; make the decisions necessary to develop a product for manufacture; and examine production methods, quality control systems, and environmental and societal impacts.

Prerequisite: Grade 11 Manufacturing Technology (TMJ3E), Workplace Preparation

 


Extra Curricular

At Westlane

I am proud to be involved and am the teacher leader in FIRST Robotics, Westlane Spartonics. This is a year round club that travels to events throughout North America to compete for the FIRST Robotics World Championships.


Background

At Westlane

I live in Welland, Ontario. I graduated from Centennial Secondary School. After high school I was an apprentice tool and die maker at Hayes-Dana. I finished my apprenticeship at General Motors and was employed there for 8 years.

I went to teachers college at Althouse College in London, Ontario. I did undergraduate studies at Brock Universtiy, York University, and the University of Western Ontario.
