DENTAL SCREENING
This Friday, Public Health will be in the main foyer from 9:30 am to 1:00
pm. For student aged 17 and under. Please stop by and talk to a registered
dental hygienist and see if you’re eligible to receive free dental
care. They have dental goodies to be handed out as well.
GIRLS SLOWPITCH
Manditory Girl's Slowpitch Practice tomorrow after school on the diamond.
If you can't make it, you must see Mr. O before the end of the day. Please
bring any remaining permission forms.
CABARET
The music department will be having a “Movie Music” buy-in Period
2 on Friday in the cafeteria. Tickets will be sold at lunch in the front
foyer. $2.00 for just the show, $3.00 including cotton candy.
Varsity Boys Soccer
There will be a varsity boys soccer practice today after school.
Student Council!
Are you looking for some community service hours? Here's the perfect chance!
Student Council will be having a car wash on Saturday June 2nd in the Walmart
parking lot. You can get 4 community service hours for coming out from
11am-1pm, sign-ups are posted in Student Services and in front of the main
office!
BASEBALL TEAM
All baseball team members are reminded to be at Oakes Park, with their equipment,
no later than 3 this afternoon as game time is 3:30. If any changes occur,
an additional announcement will be made.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Volunteers are needed for Canada Day on Sunday, July 1st. An Information
Meeting will be held on tomorrow at the MacBain Community Centre from 3:30
- 4:40. Volunteer Forms can be picked up at the Recreation & Culture
Office. See posting in Student Services.
The Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre and Red Roof Retreat Centres need volunteers to help at their Day Camps for children and youth with special needs. Activities include Swimming, gym, crafts, activities with special visitors, trips to the farm, and much more. The Camps run from 8:30 - 3:30 daily. Anyone needing service hours can help paint the backdrop for the music cabaret after school. Artistic skills are not necessary, the lines are already drawn. Contact Celeste Roorda or Mrs. Greenall for more information.
STUDENT SERVICES
The YMCA is hosting a Multicultural Day at the Newcomer Information Centre
at 8123 Lundy's Lane on Friday from 4:00 - 6:00. Multicultural Day is a
unique opportunity to discover the richness and flavors from different
cultures of the world, all in or place. Kids are welcome, there will be
prizes, food, fun activities and surprises.
Employment Opportunity
The Niagara Region of Public Health is offering a paid leadership position
for September. The position involves educating peers about current health
issues. This is a perfect opportunity to develop leadership skills while
earning extra money. See Student Services for more information and contacts.
University Bound Students
All university bound students are reminded that they need to go on the OUAC
website to accept an offer by June 1st. Only 35 of the 58 applicants have
done this. It is imperative you meet this deadline or your offer will be
revoked! If you have questions, or need assistance, please see Student
Services.
SPARTONICS
This Sunday, FIRST Team 1503 Spartonics is holding a car wash fundraiser.
It will be taking place from 10:30 am - 4:00 pm, and it is being held in
the Zehr's parking lot, at the corner of Morrison and Dorchester. Come
on out to get a spartacular car wash, and help out your local robotics
team! We hope to see you there!
Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
Last call for any Grade 11 or Grade 12 students wishing to participate in
an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament this Friday! You MUST have your Permission
to Participate Form signed and submitted to Mrs. Lawrence in the Phys-ed
Office by Thursday to attend!
